$1,700+ raised; 306 pounds of food collected
Bluffton University's student-led Family and Consumer Science Association (FCSA) held their annual Filling the CUP spaghetti dinner Friday, Nov. 6, at First Mennonite Church.
The donations collected upon admission supported the Churches United Pantry (CUP) located in Lima, Ohio, which serves between 700 and 1,000 residents of Lima each month.
This year's CUP dinner raised more than $1,700 in donations and 306 pounds of food; far surpassing the goal of $1,200 and 150 pounds of food.
FCSA would like to thank Bluffton University faculty, staff and students, and all who contributed food and monetary donations to Churches United Pantry. This dinner would not have been a success if area businesses and restaurants had not supported the event.
Special thanks go to Bluffton Hospital, Community Market (Bluffton), Ted's Market (Pandora), Panera Bread (Lima), Bluffton University's Student Senate, Bluffton University's Buildings and Grounds, Bluffton University's Family and Consumer Sciences Department, Sodexo, Common Grounds (Bluffton,), Old Barn Out Back (Lima), Stratton Greenhouse, Suter's Farm (Bluffton) and First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, for providing the facility for the Filling the CUP dinner.
