FINDLAY__The visiting Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost a non-league match to Liberty-Benton 4-1 on Wednesday, September 3.

The Pirate girls fell to 2-3 with the defeat, while the Eagles improved to 3-2-1 after the win.

Bluffton ace Aubrey Burkholder netted the lone Pirate goal in the 74th minute to avoid the shutout.

Liberty-Benton jumped in front early as Ally Ferris found the back of the net in the second minute. Isabelle Miller tallied in the 11th minute to go ahead 2-0.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys golf team handily defeated local rival Ada in a non-league dual match to commemorate Senior Night on Wednesday, September 3 at the Bluffton Golf Course.

Bluffton improved to 8-7 with the decisive 173-208 match win. The Pirates took the top five individual places to win going away.

Ada fell to 2-2 in dual match play after the loss.

It was Senior Night for the Pirates as they recognized Nick Lovett, Grady Coonfare and Jayden Shaffer.

SEPT 4 MEDIA RELEASE__The Shawnee Township Police, in partnership with Apollo Career Center and Allen County EMA, will conduct a multi-agency, full-scale active shooter training drill on Sunday, September 7, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. The high school is not in session.

As viewers of the Et Cetera Shop Facebook page recently learned (video HERE), volunteer Tim Byers has transformed the back entrance of the 327 N. Main thrift shop with the creation of a Volunteers Garden. Byers took a space that was bare gravel and filled it with several truck loads of compost and donated plants. "We had a ball with it. It's growing like crazy," he explains. Stay tuned for fall and winter displays as well.
