Library launches program to offset state budget cuts
HELP FILL BLUFFTON PUBLIC LIBRARY SHELVES WITH NEW BOOKS
Bluffton Public Library is launching a "Buck$ for Book$" campaign to help offset projected cuts in state funding for 2010. The campaign will officially begin Dec. 1 - just in time for the holidays.
According to library director Cindi Chasse, the goal of the campaign is to raise $5,000 over the next 12 months. "All proceeds will be used to lessen the impact of a projected loss of 30% of state funding revenue in 2010 on the library's material budget," Chasse said.
Community members may participate in December by donating one dollar (or more) to receive an ornament to decorate the library's Christmas tree.
"You'll help decorate our tree and fill our shelves with more new books next year," Chasse said. Alternatively, community members contributing a monetary donation may receive a certificate and envelope to present to a gift recipient.
For more information, visit the library or call 419-358-5016.
