Bluffton University hurler Kelly Barnes (Toledo, Ohio/Toledo Christian) tossed a complete game in Bluffton's 2-1 victory over Manchester Sunday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 25, 2012. It marks the second time in his career that Barnes has earned Player of the Week honors, the first coming in May of 2010.
Several area fire departments are on the scene of a house fire at 10100 Lincoln Highway near Pevee Road. Departments responding include Bluffton, Beaverdam-Richland Township, Ada-Liberty Township and Lafayette-Jackson. EMS squads from those communities also responded. Click for more photos. Bluffton High School graduate, Lindsay Steiner, this winter was awarded the Stephen P. Witte Fellowship at Kent State University, where she is a doctoral candidate.
The competitive fellowship is awarded annually to two Rhetoric and Composition doctoral candidates in the Literacy, Rhetoric and Social Practice program of the English Department at Kent State University.
