Bluffton's Ten Thousand Village store is now offering a rose window mood lamp from Bangladesh for $38, according to Aphaphanh Nussbaum, manager.

"The lamp represents a light of hope to fill holiday homes and hearts," she said. "This cut paper lamp represents the opportunity the Shuktara Handmade Paper workshop provides for Bengali women it employs."

Ten Thousand Villages, 115 S. Main St., is an Icon advertiser. Store hours are Mondays to Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays 1-5 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "Puss In Boots" (PG) is showing at the theatre from October 28 - November 3.

The Bluffton High School Athletic Department will hold a meeting for all parents, who have a child playing a winter sport grades 7-12, according to Alex Hanna, athletic director.

The meeting is at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3, in the Middle School Cafetorium.

Parents will hear from the athletic director as well as their child's coach, regarding athletic policy.

Autumn dance

As the weather turns colder, BFR offers more options for youth and adults to keep active. Sport clinics will include basic skill instructioncombined with game play. Clinics will be offered for basketball and indoor soccer and free sessions of the Quickstart Tennis program for 10 and under age players will be included as well. For adults looking for an advanced workout, the next session of Ultimate Fit will begin on Oct. 31.
