Join Transition Bluffton and Johnny Appleseed Park District land stewards, Anne Smedley and Austin Roby, for an informative presentation on native and invasive plant species in Bluffton.
The event will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 7:30 p.m. on Zoom.
Anne and Austin will share information on native plant species that enhance wildlife habitat, including information on seeding and planting. They will also discuss some of the most problematic invasive species found in our area, including techniques for removing these species.
Shannon Freshour, Democrat candidate for the Ohio’s Fourth Congressional District, will visit Bluffton this evening (Tuesday, Sept. 22) in a meet-the-candidate event.
She will meet voters in a “S’mores with Shannon” from, 6:30 to 8 p.m., at 216 W. Elm Street (corner Elm and Lawn).
This event enables Bluffton voters to learn more about Freshour’s position on issues. She is running against Jim Jordan, Republican.
“Come out and meet Shannon and enjoy some s’mores,” said Kaitlyn May of the Freshour’s campaign.

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton girls soccer team whipped visiting local rival Allen East 9-0 Monday night at Steinmetz Field.
The Lady Pirate kickers improved to 6-2-1 and 5-0 in the NWC with the lopsided win, their fifth victory in a row. AE fell to 2-5-1 and 1-2-1 in the NWC with the shutout defeat.
Reagan Mittendorf authored a hat trick to pace the blowout. Single goals were netted by Lauren Rhodes, Laykin Garmatter, Allison Diller, Brenna Kindle, Makayla Schweingruber and Rilee Setzer.

HARROD - The visiting Bluffton boys soccer team blanked rival Allen East 4-0 in Northwest Conference play Monday night at Goodwin Field in Harrod.
The unbeaten Pirates improved to 8-0-1 overall and 2-0 in the NWC with their 27th consecutive conference win. The Mustangs dropped to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in league play with the defeat.
Senior Jonathan Schriner scored two goals, and teammate Jude Spallinger tallied the other two.
