Bluffton Police Department’s K9 Kato has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The vest was embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Ty, California City Police Department.”
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c(3) charity located in East Taunton, Mass., whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.

The vest was embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Ty, California City Police Department.”
The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950. Each vest has a value between $1,744 – $2,283, and a five-year warranty and an average weight of 4-5 pounds.
The Bluffton University women's basketball team lost a hard-fought game to John Carroll University by the score of 86-70 in overtime on Wednesday, Nov. 28. Crimson Lane, wedding and event venue, rural Ada, is taking reservations for its rockin’ new year’s eve party, Monday evening, Dec. 31.
The evening includes entertainment from Cleveland Keys Dueling Pianos, from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. The event is catered by Milano Café of Lima.
Tickets, sold on a first-come, first-served basis, are $75 each or $600 for a table of eight. The price includes hors d’oeuvres, two drinks and a champagne toast.
