Mercy Health is pleased to announce the expansion of its Shawnee Family Medicine team with the addition of Mark T. Mueller, MD, Jamie Reindel CNP, Jessica Kaufman CNP and Timothy Mosher CNP.

Mark T. Mueller received his Doctor of Medicine from University of Toledo College of Medicine. He has been a Physician for Mercy Health for seven years. Dr. Mueller did his residency at Fairview General Hospital in the Cleveland Clinic Health System.

Her entry was picked from the Icon's "Sweetest Day" contest

Janice Shafer, resident of Vance Street Apartments, Bluffton, is the winner of the Bluffton Icon "Sweetest Day" contest. Her entry was selected as the winner of all persons nominated for the award.

She was nominated by her neice Kim Robinette, who says, "She truly is the sweetest." Janice received a large bouquet of flowers from the Icon.

University senior semifinalist for 2018 William V. Campbell Trophy

Football captain dedicates his senior year to academics, athletics and service at Bluffton University

Bluffton University senior Ethan Williams’ hard work and dedication on the field, in the classroom and within the community has earned him national recognition as a semifinalist for the 2018 William V. Campbell Trophy.

“The nominations are out of every single college in the nation, from Division I through Division III,” said Williams, a math major who plans to earn his Adolescent/Young Adult teaching licensure.

Ruth G. Badertscher, 93, died Oct. 24, 2018.  Ruth was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Bluffton to the late Charles and Sophie (Geha) Hankish.  On July 18, 1959, she married James Badertscher who preceded her in death on April 8, 2016.

Ruth graduated from Bluffton High School and obtained her bachelor's and master’s degree in Business Administration and Business Education from Bowling Green State University.

Blanchard Valley Hospital (BVH) will host “Living with Chronic Back Pain,” part of the “Live and Learn” series, to educate the community about methods of coping with chronic back pain. 

This event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium of BVH and led by Becky Alexander, physical therapist from The Julie A. Cole Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine and John Ogden, MD, neurosurgeon from Neurosurgical Associates of Northwest Ohio.
