Part of Red Cross response to Hurricane Florence

American Red Cross volunteer Steve Mahler of Rawson is being deployed to Durham, N.C., as part of the Red Cross response to Hurricane Florence.  Mahler will be serving with the Disaster Assessment team.

This is his third recent deployment.  In July, Steve deployed to Des Moines, Iowa, serving as a Recovery specialist following flooding in the city.   He then deployed to Marshalltown, Iowa, after a tornado struck the community as part of the Disaster Assessment team.

Mahler will be leaving from Toledo Express Airport early Sept. 13 for a two week deployment.

\The Bluffton University Men's Soccer Team was back on the Alumni Field turf for the second time in five days when the Beavers hosted Ohio Christian University on a comfortable Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018. Ohio Christian hit paydirt with just over five minutes to play in overtime period one for a 2-1 victory. The Beavers dipped to 1-4, while OCU evened its season mark at 3-3.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 8:30 to 2 p.m. in the Bluffton High school gymnasium.
