The Bluffton community enjoyed a mild morning of sunshine and gentle breezes for 2025 Memorial Day events hosted by the Bluffton American Legion Post 382, commemorating and honoring those who sacrificed their lives in U.S. military service.

Dorothy Kiefer--a regular at Pandora’s Lunchbox--turned 99 this week. Restaurant owner Nancy Hovest and friends decorated and celebrated with a German chocolate cake. The former receptionist comes to the Lunchbox almost every day and enjoys helping out at more than one local business.

List of athletes and events

Pirate track and field will compete at the May 29 D2 Regional Meet at Lexington High School, Lexington, Ohio.

Field Events start at 4 p.m. and running events at 5:30 p.m. They will also compete on Saturday, May 31 with field events start at 11 a.m. and running events start at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.ohsaa.org/

Tickets are #5 for students (K-12) and $11 for adults. Cash tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate.

The May 24 Bluffton High School commencement was a smorgasbord of emotions, entertainment, philosophy and festivity. Depending on your role–as a graduate, parent, sibling, friend, neighbor, teacher or mentor–the program brought tears, laughter and introspection.

Next Generation MyCare transition in Ohio

MAY 28 MEDIA RELEASE__Area Agency on Aging 3 is facing restructuring in the coming months due to a nonrenewal of a private provider contract. Area Agency on Aging 3 has been under contract to provide 19-counties throughout Western Ohio with case management services since 2018.

The privately held contract company will no longer provide these services and has tendered nonrenewal to several other organizations. Regretfully, due to the contract’s nonrenewal, the agency will be reducing staff numbers on July 1, 2025.

The Village of Bluffton has announced the following meetings for late May-early June. The meetings will be held at Bluffton Town Hall.

Utilities Committee on Thursday, May 29 at 3:00 p.m.

Parks & Recreation Committee on Tuesday, June 3 at 5:00 p.m.

Personnel Committee on Wednesday, June 4 at noon.

Ordinance Committee on Wednesday, June 4 at 5:00 p.m.

Pathway Board on Thursday, June 5 at noon.

Council Meeting on Tuesday, June 9 at 7:00 p.m.
