Wesley Thomas Runk formerly of Lima, died on Sept. 23, 2017. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio, on July 26, 1934, to Wesley J. Runk and Mary Lane (Benson) Runk. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Carol, and his sister-in-law Bonnie.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth, and his brother, David. He is also survived by his son, David (Beth) Runk, his daughter Ellen, (Jeff) Shockey, and his son Tim (Megan) Runk, six grandsons, two granddaughters, three granddaughters-in-law and five great-grandsons.

Six OVAL classes planned

Aaron Antrim from Life Flight, Bluffton, is the featured speaker at the Bluffton Senior Citizens October dinner meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9. Tickets are $8 and need to be purchased by Oct. 4, according to Tonya Meyer, director.

Six Our Version of Adult Learning (OVAL) classes take place in October:

• Monday, Oct. 2 – 9:30 a.m. – Bob Minto, artist, presents a pottery demonstration

• Thursday, Oct. 5 – A trip to historic Roscoe Village, Coshocton. Bus leaves Bluffton at 7:15 a.m.

Drawings, door prizes, refreshments, sign-up for free consultations

Healthe Habits for Living and Ellerbrock Spine and Soft Tissue, 120 Main St., Suite A, will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11, according to Dr. Matt Ellerbrock and Christine Schroeder of Healthe Habits for Living, who joined the Ellerbrock staff this spring.

The open house includes drawings, door prizes and refreshments. Persons may sign up for a one-on-one free 15-minute consultation with Schroeder.

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team limited Heidelberg to a single goal, but the Student Princes made it stand up as the home team improved to 6-3-1 overall thanks to the 1-0 shutout. Bluffton slipped to 1-7 on the season.

West Riley Street structure demolition delay possible

Note: E-mail service to Bluffton village offices is sporadic, as many residents trying to e-mail village employees discovered last week.

The internet server went down last Wednesday and no e-mail was sent or received by the village until earlier this week.

The village is working with Perry Pro-Tech, its internet provider, to resolve the problem.

Monday’s council session
Bluffton council awarded the West Elm Street water engineering project to Choice One Engineering, Sidney, for – rough estimated - $450,000 on Monday.
