Tickets now on sale

Bluffton High School’s post-prom committee will hold a designer purse raffle on Saturday, Nov. 4, in the middle school cafetorium.

Registration with sandwiches, dips and desserts starts at 5:30 p.m. The reverse raffle is at 7 p.m.

The evening will have games, gift baskets, a 50/50 drawing and other prizes.

Tickets are $35, which includes food. Tickets are available at Bluffton High School and middle school offices. Tickets are also available from Erinn Prater, Teri Steinmetz and at Greg’s Pharmacy.

Table for six or 12 persons are available for $10.

The Guidance Office at Bluffton High School will sponsor a financial aid meeting for parents and students of juniors and seniors who plan to continue their education beyond high school.

The meeting is the high school library,  at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 2. Chris Fowler, Financial Aid Director at Bluffton University, will be the presenter for the evening. He will discuss financial aid and filing the FAFSA form.
 

The next performance on the Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series is Lucas and Sarah of the Antivillains.

Their performance is from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 22, in the third floor of the town hall.

The performers are described this way: Sarah is a soulful singer-songwriter from Toledo who uses themes of storytelling, space travel, first loves, and family tragedy.

All donations at the door go to the band.

Watercolor Workshop continues on Sept. 25 at 5:30 p.m. Local artist Jeanne Beutler will continue teaching on the lower level of the library. Advance registration is required (and the number of registrants is limited!) Walk away with your own watercolor piece of art, complete with mat!

This month’s piece is titled “Pineapple.” There is a $10 supply fee at the door (cash only please).

At tonight's football game at Harmon Field

At tonight's home football game between Bluffton HS and Crestview student sections from both schools will participate in the OHSAA initiative #helpinghouston tonight. 

"The student sections will both wear white, donate t-shirts for hurricane victims, a portion of the 50/50 will go to the Red Cross for hurricane relief, and Crestview's Student Senate will bring $800 to donate to the Red Cross., said Alex Hanna, BHS athletic director.

He added that shortly before game time both student sections will come together for a quick photo showing their support for hurricane relief.

Registrations are still open for Bluffton Family Recreation's Kid's Night Out, set for Friday, Sept. 29, according to Amy Byers of BFR.

"The evening is from 6 to 9:30 p.m. for youth ages 4 to 12. Kid's Night Out includes lots of fun and games including flashlight tag," said Byers.

Drinks and pizza are included.Registration is $15 for BFR members and $20 for non-members. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 27.
