Beth Huffman will speak during the 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, meeting of the Mt. Cory United Methodist Church Friendship Circle, 300 N. Main St., Mt. Cory.

Huffman is a retired English teacher from Columbus Grove and is an inspirational speaker and author.

In the past six years, she has spoken to well over a thousand people whose audiences include civic organizations, women’s groups, professional organizations and church groups.

Several events open to the public are on the Bluffton University September calendar. Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted:
 
Sept. 9 Colloquium: “Arts Advocacy through Performance, Research and Outreach,” Friday Colloquium by Lucia Unrau, professor of music, 4 p.m., Stutzman Lecture Hall
 
Sept. 11 Art Exhibit: Reception with artists Laura Barnhardt-Corle and Valerie Escobedo, 1-3 p.m., Sauder Visual Arts Center

If you walk in Bluffton on a regular basis—whether you are getting from one place to another or are walking for your health—you’ve probably been both frightened and mad. Frightened by drivers who don’t even glance your way. Mad if you know that state law requires drivers to yield to pedestrians.
