To better prepare students for the ever-changing landscape of careers in the media, Bluffton University’s department of communication and theatre created a new convergent media major.
The major will prepare communication professionals to produce and manage content across multiple platforms including: print, radio, the internet, television and social media.
Bluffton HS softball team lost its first Northwest Conference game of the season at Ada in a 2 to 3 battle.
Offensively the Lady Pirates seemed to have things going their way with a solid 14 hits and 1 walk to lead the team to the bases.
Unfortunately only 2 girls crossed home and 13 were left stranded. Taylor Monday led the team at the plate going 4 for 4 with 4 singles and 1 run scored.
Katie Prater had solid hitting with 2 singles and 1 double and 1 run scored. Jazmynn Wilson was strong swinging with 3 singles and 1 RBI.
Dave Haas, a "nationally-acclaimed performer and recording artist" will perform on the mountain dulcimer Saturday, April 23, at 7 p.m. at the Bluffton Town Hall. He'll play a variety of music, including traditional fiddle tunes, Celtic favorites, hymns, classical, and contemporary arrangements.
Haas grew up in Findlay and now lives in Charleston, WV, where he is a a chemistry professor at the University of Charleston. More information on Haas is available at www.davehaasmusic.com.
This year's Ride to Remember planning committee met last week to work out details for this year's Saturday, July 16, bicycle ride in Bluffton.
