Columbus Grove High School will host a College Goal Sunday event from 2 to 4 p.m., Feb. 14, at Columbus Grove High School, according to Tonya Best, school guidance counselor.

The event is for high school seniors and their parents. Kicking off the day is a 1 p.m., college financing workshop. 

Also during the day is free FAFSA assistance will be provided. For more details check the website: www.ohiocollegegoalsunday.org.

Rita M. Maroscher, 62, of Uhrichsville, died Thursday, Feb, 11, 2016, in the home of her sister, Carmen Maurer, in Dover.

Born May 30, 1953, in Columbus, she was a daughter of Bruno Maroscher of
Bluffton, and the late Martha Jane McNaughton Maroscher. Rita attended school
in Bluffton, and began her career working at the family's business, Bruno's
I.G.A. in Beaverdam. She went on to be employed by Food Lion grocery stores as a meat cutter, and later retired as market manager. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Justin and Elya Kantner talk with Mitch Kingsley following Friday's chamber breakfast. The Kanters will move to Paraguay this summer as Christian missionaries. Justin told chamber members at the breakfast about the why, how and when of the career change.

Ada Icon photographer Ken Collins was in Bluffton on Friday. He snapped a few weather photos while in the State Route 103 neighborhood around 5 p.m. just as some snow showers moved in.
