A reception with artist Roger Sugden will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17. Sugden’s exhibit titled “Shapeshifters” opened on Jan. 4 and will continue through Jan. 29. The exhibit is on display in the Grace Albrecht Gallery of Bluffton University’s Sauder Visual Arts Center.
Stephen Tatarkov, son of Svetlana Tatarkov, 10970 Phillips Rd, Bluffton, has been named to the Ohio Northern University dean's list for the fall semester 2015-16. He is a junior majoring in mechanical engineering.
The deans’ list includes students who attain a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 grading system.
Julie Borowski, a YouTube political commentator, will speak on “What is libertarianism, anyway?” at Bluffton University Forum at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26 in Founders Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Borowski lives in the Washington, D.C. area, and is best known for her YouTube channel where she discusses current events. She has appeared on FOX Business Network and been published in the Washington Examiner, Daily Caller, Red State and other online outlets.
Dr. Melissa Friesen, Mary Nord Ignat and Joseph Ignat Professor of Theatre and Communication, will present the colloquium "Classroom, Workshop, Dorm Room: Plays Well with Others” on Friday, Jan. 29, at Bluffton University. Using illustrations from her Theatre for Social Change course and participatory exercises, the presentation explores techniques designed to build trust, empathy and critical engagement with issues of identity and social justice.
Her presentation is free and open to the public beginning at 4 p.m. in Centennial Hall.
