Bluffton's new voter map

Bluffton's five Allen County election precincts are now three. The Allen County board of elections reduced the number of Allen County precincts from 121 to 80 in a cost-savings measure this winter.

According to Mark Vernick, director of the Allen County board of elections, the size of the new precincts in Bluffton was based upon the number of registered voters in the village.

Steve Swank wants to clear out his riding mower inventory in preparation for the 2012 moving season.

To achive that, Swank, of S&K Mowers is offering a February only riding mower clearance. Depending upon the mower, he's offering up on a 35 percent discount off the price of the mower.

A discussion of Tracy Kidder's book "Strength in What Remains" will take place in the family room of Maple Crest Senior Living Village on Monday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m. Maple Crest Senior Living Village is located at 700 Maple Crest Ct., Bluffton.

Copies of the book may be requested at Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free community meal on Wednesday, Feb. 29. The meal is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church felliowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora. The menu will be baked potato bar, chili, cake, coffee and punch.

Dr. Gerald Mast, professor of communication at Bluffton University, will present a program Thursday, Feb. 23, on his recently published book, "Go to Church, Change the World: Christian Community as Calling."

Beginning with refreshments at 3:45 p.m., the event is free and open to the public in the Musselman Library Reading Room on the Bluffton campus. Mast will sign copies of his book, which will be available for purchase. Its target audience includes Christian education directors, Sunday school classes and book clubs.

A limited number of tickets remain available for the next performance in the 2011-12 Bluffton University Artist Series, by The Ohio State University Flute Troupe at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in Yoder Recital Hall.

Established in 1985 by Katherine Borst Jones, professor of flute at Ohio State, the troupe consists of both undergraduate and graduate flute majors. Known for its high level of performance using all of the instruments of the flute family, the ensemble is recognized as one of the premiere flute choirs in the nation.
