May 7 commencement ceremonies awarded over 150 Bluffton University graduates with masters and bachelors degrees. This was the 122nd annual commencement at the univeristy. The event was held in the Sommer Center with the procession of dignitaries, graduates and facutly led by President Jane Wood.
The Mental Health & Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties, also known as We Care People, urges area residents and organizations to "be seen with green" in support of mental health.
A Be Seen with Green campaign will take place the week of May 9-15. You are invited to show off your green throughout the entire month of May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month.
The Bluffton High School boys track and field team finished a strong second in the annual 16-team Ada Invitational meet Saturday at War Memorial Stadium.
Van Wert won the boys team crown over Bluffton, 134 points to 116.5.
Spencerville captured the girls team title with Kenton second, while the Pirate girls finished a solid sixth.
Senior Gavin Bogart won both the 110 high hurdles and 300 hurdles races to help pace the Pirates.

Members of the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center recently enjoyed an outdoor bread baking demonstration at the Schumacher Homestead, 8350 Bixel Rd. It was a damp and chilly week, but the group brought blankets and chairs, and made themselves comfortable.
Ivan Friesen provided the bread baking expertise, while Swiss Community Historical Society curator Keith Sommers filled in the guests on the history of bread ovens in the area known as The Settlement.
