If you've ever wanted to dig into the village files to find a certain ordinance, you'd be in for a long search. Ordinances are all over the place.
But, that will change sometime in 2019. The village has contracted with American Legal Publishing Corp., of Cincinnati to resolve the problem.
Jesse Blackburn, village administrator, shared the first draft of an estimated 750-page document titled "Village of Bluffton, Ohio, Code of Ordinances." We're guessing at the 750 pages, based on 500 sheets of paper pile. It could be 1,000 pages.
Daniel Creeger, Bluffton Boy Scout, transports gifts into the St. John's UCC last Saturday. The Bluffton Community Assistance Program served 67 households, totally 165 persons in the Bluffton school district, with Christmas gifts and food in this year's adopt-a-family program, according to Jami Crawfis, volunteer director. Helping collect donations on Dec. 15 were Bluffton Boy Scouts, the Anderson family and several volunteers with the assistance program.
Responding to your request for comments from viewers who once lived in Lincoln Hall on the Bluffton University campus, the hall was a women’s dorm in the early 1950s and I lived there for three years. Miss Edna Ramseyer was the House Mother during those days. Felt a bit sad it was going to be demolished, but am so grateful. Bluffton University will have a wonderful, much needed, science building.
In the spirit of this year’s Blaze of Lights, the Icon offers viewers a daily local gift idea based upon the 12 Days of Christmas theme. There’s no need to shop out of town or on the internet for Christmas gifts this year.
On the sixth day of Christmas I shopped at...
Shannon Theatre, 119 S. Main St.
Where I purchase a book of eight (2D) movie passes for $20. (These prices last through Dec. 23.)
