COLUMBUS__The message from state officials was clear: Come early, stay late for last week’s solar eclipse. New data shows that most people did just that, avoiding the post-eclipse gridlock other states experienced.

Have you cut your lawn yet or are you lapping some of your neighbors? The Village of Bluffton has a reminder: the height of grass, weeds or brush in residential, business and industrial areas is not to exceed seven inches. See the ordinance HERE.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School baseball team was doubled up by visiting Lima Central Catholic, 12-6, in a non-league game Tuesday, April 16.

Bluffton First Methodist Church, 116 Church Street, will host a youth group fundraising event on April 24, 2024 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m.

Bluffton University music groups will come together for a spring concert of fun and familiar tunes on Sunday, April 21, in Yoder Recital Hall.

At 2:00 p.m., pre-concert music will be provided in the lobby. A jazz combo will perform with senior trumpeter Caleb Gaertner, a Music major/graphic design minor from Toledo. Selections include “When I Fall in Love” – made famous by Nat King Cole – and “Song For My Father” by Horace Silver.

The 2:30 concert will feature the University Chorale, Camerata Singers and Concert Band in a varied program of classical music, as well as “just for fun” pieces.

The Bluffton Exempted Village Schools Board of Education met on April 15 to consider action items including preparations for the 2024-2025 academic year. These items focused on school fees, teaching contracts and assignments, along with updates to handbooks. Administrative reports were heard and a newly created technology cart for Podcasts was demonstrated.
