The October 2 inauguration of Bluffton University President Alex Sider was an opportunity to witness the pomp and circumstance of such rare events. The speeches and ceremonies at Yoder Hall were solemn, celebratory and personal. The event was shaped by both the individual honored and the institution he will lead.
The Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters club has donated 79 baby quilts to the Allen County Children Services (https://www.allencsb.com/). The group meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at the Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St. Quilters of all skill levels are welcome.

OCT 9 MEDIA RELEASE__The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle in Jackson Township, Allen County. The crash occurred on Napoleon Road near State Route 81 at approximately 4:32 a.m. this morning.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north on Napoleon Road when it struck a pedestrian who was in the northbound lane. The Chevrolet Silverado was operated by Merl Hall, age 81, of Lafayette, Ohio. Mr. Hall was not injured in the crash.
PORT CLINTON – Bluffton High School senior tennis player Hannah Nieman competed hard before being eliminated on day one of the Division II district tournament at Port Clinton High School on Wednesday.
Nieman lost her first match in the round of 16 to one of the four number one seeds in the district by a 6-0, 6-1 score.

The song has been covered over 300 times by famous singers such as Bing Crosby, Doris Day and Ray Charles. The song was even part of The Simpsons television show in 1997. The song is one of the official songs for the state of Louisiana.
