A morning hike in late April 2025 through Bluffton’s Motter Park is accompanied by a Hallelujah Chorus of birdsong. And while I’m tempted to catch one or two feathered friends on camera, I’m there in search of an easier subject: a new overlook deck at the cascading pools feature created at the southern reaches of the park.

April 29 media release__The next Women in Business meeting is Thursday, May 15 at 7:00 p.m. on the third floor of Bluffton Town Hall. 

Heather Koontz, owner of Therapy Works of Northwest Ohio, will be talking about how to prevent burn out using self-care.

Four determined members of the Bluffton Sportsmen's Club wrestled with 200 trout in preparation for the 81st annual Trout Derby at Buckeye Lake on Sunday, May 4. The men tagged each trout with a number associated with a prize. Catch the No. 1 trout on Derby Day to win half the day's jackpot plus $1,000.

MINSTER – The Bluffton girls and boys track and field teams each finished second at a tough quadrangular meet in Minster on Tuesday, April 29.

The Pirate girls were edged by 2.5 points by St. Henry, 78.5-76. Bath finished third with 51 points, followed by host Minster (43.5).

The Pirate boys finished a close second at the meet to Minster, 82-76. The Bath boys tallied 66 points, while the SH boys were last (32).

BLUFFTON – The Bluffton High School baseball team used two big offensive innings to defeat non-conference rival Riverdale Tuesday, April 29.

The Pirates scored four runs in the second inning, then plated seven runs in a fifth inning outburst to break a 4-4 tie and win going away.
The Pirates improved to 7-9 with the victory. Riverdale fell to 8-6 after the defeat.

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton High School softball team lost 15-3 to visiting non-conference rival Riverdale on a windy Tuesday evening, April 29.

The Pirate girls dropped to 2-8 overall with the loss. Riverdale improved to 9-7 after the decisive win.

Bluffton scored singles runs in the first two frames to tie it 2-2 heading to the third. The visiting Falcons then tallied six runs in the top of the third to blow the game open.
