School board okays replacement of BHS air conditioning chiller; will examine bids for Harmon Stadium repair
Several contract agreements made up much of the March 15 Bluffton school board agenda, however the most important two items were the discussion of the Harmon Field stadium repair and the replacement of high school air conditioning chiller.
The board authorized the Bluffton firm of R.D. Neff & Associates to develop bid specifications, to advertise the project and oversee the bidding process for renovation of the stadium. The bid opening is April 6. The board set a special meeting for April 12 to accept the Harmon Field bid.
In addition, the board accepted an $111,073 bid from Lippincott Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration of Lima to install a package chiller at the high school.
For further explanation of both items read the comments by Greg Denecker, Bluffton superintendent.
In other action, the board issued the following contracts for 2009-10: Tyler Fairchild, assistant softball coach, $2,222; Emily Carmack, boy's tennis coach, $1,589; Brian Hill, volunteer assistant baseball coach, no pay.

Two contracts for the 2010-2011 school year were approved. They were to Joel Steinmetz, girls' soccer coach, $3,530; and David Glick, volunteer assistant baseball coach, no pay.
