Marcella Looker 1913-2010
Marcella Looker, 97, of Pandora died 12:30 p.m. March 24, 2010, at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
She was born Jan. 24, 1913, in Putnam County to Philip and Elizabeth Steiner Basinger. She married Ernest J. Looker Jr. on Nov. 11, 1973 and he died Dec. 4, 1984.
Mrs. Looker and been employed by Readrite Meter Works, Bluffton as an assembly worker and as an office worker at Steiner Bros., Lima, Leland Diller Insurance, Bluffton and Bluffton Community Hospital. She also worked as a housekeeper and caregiver for Mrs. A.P. Steiner in Waynesboro, Pa.
She was a member of the Reformed Mennonite Church, Bluffton and a graduate of Bluffton High School.
Survivors include nephews, Philip R. (Carol) Basinger Mt. Cory and Gareth Jake (Tommie) Basinger, Bluffton, grand nieces Gena Basinger Chambers, Lori Basinger Warren, grand nephews, Scott Basinger, Ron Warren, Lendon Warren, Michael Warren, Bruce Warren, friend and caretaker, Karen Morris and family friend, Jo Souder.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Reformed Mennonite Church, Bluffton. James Basinger and Mark Bankert will officiate. Burial will be in the Reformed Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call 2- 6 p.m. Sunday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton Hospital or Putnam County Hospice.
