Kathy Koontz Shepard 1956-2010
Kathy Koontz Shepard, 54, passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 4,
2010 at her home near Bluffton. She was born on March 14, 1956 to Jasper
O. "Joe" and Mary (Schultz) Koontz in Bluffton, and her mother survives.
She married C. Mack Shepard on June 18, 1988, and he survives.
She is also survived by by two sisters: Carol (Del) Heath of rural Rawson
and Cherrie Koontz of Bluffton; two step-daughters: Tiffany Marie (Jose)
Acosta of Statesville, N.C., and Lillian Kay (Nelson) Van Pelt of Baghdad,
Iraq; three nephews: Dana (Heather) Koontz of Harrod, Lee Koontz of
Philadelphia, Pa., and Craig Koontz of Toledo; sister-in-law, Pam (Doc)
Eichholt of Ottawa; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; and by three
step-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by a brother Ken Lynn
Koontz.
She was a 1974 graduate of Bluffton High School. She also was a former
EMT-A with the Bluffton and Beaverdam EMS Units and a seamstress at the
Cop Shop in Lima.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton where visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Richland Twp., Allen County.
