Nancy Badertscher (1965-2010) was recipient of Jefferson Award for volunteerism
Nancy J. Badertscher, 44, of Bluffton, died at 9:42 p.m., April 18, 2010, at the Bluffton Hospital. She was born July 28, 1965, in Bluffton to Don and Harriet (Badertscher) Badertscher. Her mother survives.
Nancy was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She was a recipient of the Jefferson Award for her volunteerism at the Bluffton Elementary School and at the Mennonite Memorial Home. She was not only a resident of the Mennonite Memorial Home, but was a special friend to the entire Mennonite Memorial Home community. She was a 1983 graduate of Bluffton High School.
In addition to her mother, other survivors are two sisters, Lori (William) Barns, Vienna, Va.; and Sue (Walter) Delgado, Jonesboro, Ga.; and nieces and nephews, Julie, Ariel, Chris and Mindy Delgado.
A service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, April 23, at St. John's United Church of Christ. Rev. Bruce Steinhard will officate.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Contributions may go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, St. John's United Church of Christ or the Mennonite Memorial Home.
