Brandon Herr, Brock Miller named to national college football honor society
Brandon Herr and Brock Miller, who completed their Bluffton University football careers last fall, have been named to the 2010 National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society.
The honor society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained a grade point average of 3.2 or better during their undergraduate study.
This year, 620 players from 246 colleges and universities qualified for membership-the most in the society's four-year history. Qualifications also include being a starter or significant substitute in one's final year of eligibility at an accredited NCAA or NAIA school, and meeting all mandated progress toward degree requirements.
Herr, a defensive back from Bluffton, will receive a bachelor's degree in marketing and sport management at the university's commencement ceremony Sunday, May 9, while Miller, a quarterback from Cincinnati, will receive a degree in mathematics.
"The NFF's mission is to build leaders through football, and this year's Hampshire Honor Society members are living proof of that charge," said foundation Chair Archie Manning. "Each of these young men has showcased a strong desire to succeed on and off the football field, and we are certainly proud to honor them for their accomplishments as the next generation of our nation's leaders."
