Betty E. Hilty, 80, of Grand Rapids, Ohio, and formerly Bluffton, died at 6:25 a.m., May 7, 2010, at the Grand Rapids Care Center, Grand Rapids, Ohio.

She was born April 30, 1930, to Dwight and Elizabeth Garmatter Deeds in Rawson. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Hilty was a graduate of Bluffton High School and Bliss Business College, Columbus.

Survivors are sons, Jim (Vicky), Grand Rapids, John, Urbana, Ill., and Josephy, Ft. Myers, Fla. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Angela Hilty and a sister Bonnie Pfohl, Sarasota, Fla.

She was preceded in death by brothers Minard, Samuel and Donald Deeds and a sister, Marjorie Deeds.

A funeral service is at 11 a.m., May 10, at Clymer Cemetery, Mt. Cory. Rev. Kevin Mohr will officiate.

Visitation is from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton.
