Mennonite Home provides Alzheimer's support group
Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter,
offers support group help for caregivers
The Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, invites anyone who has a family member or friend with memory loss to attend a caregiver group meeting.
Meetings are held in Bluffton on the third Monday of each month at 3 p.m., at the Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St. Tricia Hermann and Emily Koogler lead the meetings. For more information call the Home at 419-358-1015.
Caring for a person with Alzheimer's disease is a challenge. Changes in the person's behavior, caused by the progress of the disease, can lead to frustration and anxiety for a caregiver. Caregivers attending a support group meeting find a relaxed, confidential atmosphere. They are among other caregivers and discuss suggestions for handling specific medical, legal, behavioral and financial problems.
This meeting is free and open to the community. Registration is not required however, it is strongly suggested that you contact the facilitation of the group you plan to attend for the first time to confirm the time, place and date of the meeting or the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, at 1-800-272-3900 or 419-227-9700.
