Area youth are invited to "Make a Splash - READ" this summer by participating in the Bluffton Public Library's Summer Reading Club from June 7 to July 30.
Youth in grades K-12 may register at the library to read for prizes as well as to take part in special programs offered throughout the summer. The goal for youth in grades K-5 is to read for 5 hours during the summer while the goal for teens in grades 6-12 is to read for 10 hours. Those who succeed will receive small prizes and several chances to win bigger prizes.
Special events this summer will include a "Sidewalk Art and Root Beer Float Kickoff" on June 8 for teens and a "Life's A Beach" party for grades K-12 on June 9. Also, for the first time ever, special movie screenings will be offered during the summer for children and their families. Please call the library or pick up a program schedule for more information on movies and other programs.
The "Make a Splash - READ" Summer Reading Club is sponsored by the Bluffton Public Library, the Friends of the Library, and other area businesses.
