Most residents 55 and older once sat in the chair where this photo was taken. It was taken in 1971 in the Leland Gerber Photography Studio. The studio is now part of the parking lot of Citizens National Bank (north of the Post Office). Between the mid-1950s to early 1980s, Gerber took most of Bluffton High School's senior portraits, community weddings, anniversary photos and everything else. This photo was taken by Fred Steiner, while he was a student at BGSU. His assignment in a photojournalism class was to follow a professional photographer around for one afternoon. Since Leland was the only professional he knew, he spent an afternoon in his studio and left this this photo.
