BVH Laboratory receives CAP 15189 SM re-accreditation
The Blanchard Valley Hospital Laboratory, Findlay, has received CAP 15189 SM reaccreditation to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The CAP 15189 SM Accreditation is a voluntary, non-regulated accreditation to the ISO 15189:2007 Standard. Awarded by the College of American Pathology, this accreditation is given to laboratories that achieve the highest levels of operational systems improvement, risk mitigation and quality management.
Laboratories that receive this accreditation are certified as providing the safest conditions for their patients.
"Through the ISO 15189 process we have used a positive team approach to continue to implement process improvement and meet the standards of reaccreditation. We are proud to be recognized for providing such high quality patient care," said Bonnie Van Schoik, BVH laboratory director.
In 2009, the Blanchard Valley Hospital Laboratory was named the third laboratory in the United States to receive the CAP 15189 SM Accreditation to the International Organization for Standardization.
