James Palte 1936-2010
James F. Palte, 74, died Aug. 3, 2010, at the Richland Manor in Beaverdam. He was born Jan. 9, 1936, in Putnam County to Edwin and Marcellina Palte who preceded him in death. On Aug. 17, 1957, he married Doris Elaine Fett who survives.
Mr. Palte retired from Lord's Enterprises (Beaverdam Farmers Elevator) after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton. He was a 1955 graduate of Beaverdam High School.
Survivors include six children, Sue Palte (Robert Jennings) of Lima, Robert (Annie) Palte - Poke and Shorty, of Beaverdam, Sandy (Mike) Conley of Ada, Tom Palte of Fairborn, Tim (Bobbie) Palte of Albany, N.Y., and Steve (Angie) Palte of Bluffton, 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one brother, William (Nancy) Palte of Minster, two sisters, LouAnn (Don) Osborne of Columbus Grove, Rita Plaugher of Lima, sister-in-law, JoAnn (Stan) Brauen of Puyallup, Wash., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
A mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton. Rev. David Beck will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., with a rosary service at 8 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or The Activity Fund at Richland Manor Nursing Home.
