Several Bluffton-Pandora performers in Rally Point concert
A free musical concert will be held Saturday, Aug. 21, at Ottawa Park, 2632 Ada Road, Lima.
Families and others interested are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and come out a listen to several local artists and bands while they provide music during the Rally Point River Ride Bike Tour.
The concert starts at 10 a.m. with the St. John Mennonite Church worship band; from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Lauren Wannemacher will singing. The Lima Beane Chorus will perform until noon. Jim Boedicker will sing from noon to 1 p.m. and Chuck Sommers will perform from 1 to 2 p.m.
There will be food and refreshments available and if families want to participate in the bike tour they can register that day.
The 20-mile ride takes you around the Lima park system and is designed for families to enjoy riding together as well as seeing the parks. The cost is $35 per rider or $80 per family (which includes up to 5 lunches and 2 t-shirts).
All proceeds from the Rally Point River Ride go to support the Rally Point Youth Center of Lima
Riders will receive a free t-shirt, lunch, snacks, entertainment, and recovery massage from the students at the Therapeutic Institute of Massage.
This year Rally Point is also raffling off a blue and silver, Crosstown, 3.0 Hybrid Bike donated by Crankers Bike shop. This is a 21-inch bike with 24 speeds, valued at $400. Each rider is automatically entered to win a chance at the bike or additional tickets can be purchased the day of the ride.
