Work on the hospital's second floor continues next week
Steel erection and framing of the two-story addition at the Bluffton Hospital continues next week. This addition will house the new emergency department and other services. As part of the framing, masonry block installation continues for the interior elevator and stairwell.
Roofing is being finished and interior framing of new walls and hanging HVAC duct work for the new operating room continues.
Work on two emergency exit ramps from our existing building is well under way. One is on the alley (west) side and the other will replace the steps near the medical/surgical exit from the first floor.
Major construction equipment and delivery trucks will continue to cause periodic traffic restrictions. The hospital staff asks that persons drive carefully and protect the safety of the construction workers.
