They are back - that mean's there's dancing in the street Sunday evening
They'll be dancing in the street again Sunday, Aug. 29, in Bluffton.
Main Street, that is, where from 7-9 p.m. new and returning Bluffton University students will dance, eat ice cream and generally continue a tradition on the eve of the first day of fall-semester classes.
The outdoor dance party/ice cream social will cap a weekend that began with new student move-in on Aug. 27.
"Fall Welcome" events are also planned throughout the ensuing week, including the annual opening convocation at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31. Christopher Haw, co-author of the 2008 book Jesus for President, will be the featured speaker, launching Bluffton's 2010-11 civic engagement theme, "Living with Enough: Responding to Global Poverty."
In addition, with faculty in regalia looking on, about 270 new first-year and transfer students will be introduced during the ceremony.
