Hospital update: More steel installation
Work on the Bluffton Hospital construction project this week includes continuing the steel installation and framing of the two-story addition, which includes the new emergency department.
In addition, this week will see continuing masonry block installation for the interior elevator and stairwell, continuing the framing of new walls and hanging HVAC duct work for the new operating room.
Workers will also continuing to work on two emergency exit ramps from the existing building - one on the alley (west) side and the second that will replace the steps near the medical/surgical exit from the first floor.
The alley ramp has been completed and approved by the building inspector. Now that the alley ramp is open, work has begun on the medical/surgical exit ramp. Both ramps will be completed by mid-September.
