BLUFFTON ATHLETIC BOOSTERS ANNOUNCE SPECIAL CEREMONY DURING HALFTIME OF THE BLUFFTON FOOTBALL GAME ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 29TH VERSES COLUMBUS GROVE.
The Bluffton Athletic Boosters will have a short ceremony at the end of the half-time during the Bluffton home football game against Columbus Grove. This will serve as the ceremonial "Burning of the Mortgage" for the Ricky Matter Strength and Conditioning Center. This building is dedicated to the memory of Ricky Matter who tragically died in an auto accident on Feb. 14, 2004.
This culminates a project that started in 2004 where the Athletic Booster's have raised over $865,000 in funds to build and pay for a state of the art Strength and Conditioning Center. The facility named for Ricky Matter was opened in August 2005.
Present during the brief ceremony will be Rick's parents, Rick and Sherri Matter along with his sister Caity Matter-Henniger, administrators of the Bluffton Schools, and members of the Bluffton Athletic Boosters Association.
At the bottom of this story is an attachment with a statement from the Matter family plus a list of Ricky Matter's athletic achievements.
