Vaccination clinics - schedule online
The Allen County Health Department has a new service to make it easier for residents to schedule an appointment for a vaccination. On-line scheduling allows someone to make an appointment for themselves or their children to get their immunizations at the Health Department.
"It's so important for adults and children to be up to date on their vaccines, we want to make it as accessible as possible for people to schedule them," says Deb Roberts, RN, Communicable Disease Nurse Specialist.
A link is available on the Health Department website, and people just need to follow the screens to get their appointments scheduled.
"Even though infants and toddlers should have received all recommended vaccines by age 2, many under-immunized children remain, leaving the potential for outbreaks of disease. Many adolescents and adults are under-immunized as well. These are missed opportunities to protect themselves against diseases such as pertussis (whooping cough), Hepatitis B, influenza, and pneumococcal disease," says Roberts. "Vaccinations are one of the best ways to put an end to the serious effects of certain diseases."
