Bluffton students to recount semester in Northern Ireland
Bluffton University students who participated in the Peace and Conflict Resolution Program in Northern Ireland during fall semester 2010 will share their experiences at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, in Founders Hall. The forum is free and open to the public.
Speakers will be Jennifer Arnold (Fort Wayne, Ind.), Joshua Banks (Mansfield, Ohio), Kayla Berkey (Sandusky, Ohio), Amanda Borders (Caledonia, Ohio), Andrew Chaffee (Clarkston, Mich.), Melinda Hood (Amelia, Ohio), Ashley Miller (Canton, Ohio), Megan Raber (Hartville, Ohio), Rebecca Sabo (Jeromesville, Ohio) and Katimari Workman (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.).
Each year, Bluffton students have the option of studying elsewhere for a semester-as the students did in Northern Ireland-or spending two to three weeks in May and June exploring a different culture in the United States or abroad. These opportunities give students a chance to immerse themselves in a different culture, providing widened perspectives, new insights and an increased respect for community.
