Bluffton University clarinetist to perform senior recital
Karla Funk, a clarinetist from Salina, Kan., will present her Bluffton University senior recital at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, in Yoder Recital Hall on the Bluffton campus. The recital is free and open to the public; a reception will follow in the lobby.
Funk is a student of Dr. Adam Schattschneider, a professor of music at Bluffton who will join her and fellow senior Danielle Spitler of McComb, Ohio, in a clarinet trio on Mozart's "Sonatina." Funk will also perform numbers by Brahms, Wagner, Samuel Adler and Carl Maria von Weber. Providing accompaniment will be pianist Anna Stembler-Smith.
The recital is presented in partial fulfillment of requirements for Funk's graduation from Bluffton with a major in music education and concentrations in music ministry and performance studies.
