Spring fire hydrant flushing begins Monday
Bluffton's spring fire hydrant flushing will begin Monday, April 25.
"This will take us approximately two weeks to complete, Jan Basinger of the village water department told The Icon.
Basinger warns that the hydrant flushing could cause discoloration of water and possible taste issues. The discoloration and tasts issues should not last long, however.
If the resident runs their garden hose for several minutes it could help their water conditions improve more quickly, he said. "Residents should avoid doing laundry if they see us flushing in the area."
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause to residents, but it is crucial to do this for maintenance of our water lines. We have over 260 hydrants that will be flushed, he said.
