A white sport coat and a pink carnation - it's BHS prom weekend
What did you wear to your high school prom? What was the theme? Who was your date?
The junior-senior prom tradition continues at Bluffton High School this weekend. The tradition is a long-standing one, going back to the 1930s, when it when by the name of the junior-senior banquet.
This year's prom is Saturday, April 30, and carries the theme "Rock star." As in recent years, this year's event is at The Centre, 601 N. Main St. The community is invited to see how the junior class has decorated The Centre for their senior class guests. The open house is from 7 to 8 p.m. before the prom begins.
The prom takes place from 8 to 11:30 p.m. A post-prom follows at Marbeck Center on the Bluffton University campus.
Community members are invited to watch prom-goers and their guests enter The Centre. This year bleachers will not be set up for prom watchers. The general public is invited to bring their own chairs.
