Emmanuel UCC invites Icon viewers to fall festivities day on Oct. 22

Emmanuel United Church of Christ will hold a Fall Festivities Day on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The event, open to the public, includes trunk or treat, crafts, and several other activities. Come dress for Halloween.

The church is located at 8375 N. Phillips Road.

Wildcats dominate on offense

Delphos Jeff stop BHS 33-3

After days of rain and a sloppy field, it was easy to predict that Delphos Jefferson would run the ball extensively Friday against Bluffton.  But the dominance of their offensive attack was a surprise as the Wildcats soundly defeated the Pirates 33-3, holding BHS to just 43 yards of total offense.  Delphos improved to 5-1 (3-0 NWC) on the season, Bluffton fell to 3-3 (1-2).

Medicare open enrollment Oct. 15 to Dec. 7

Tonya Meyer, Bluffton Senior Citizens Center director, reminds persons 65 and older that Medicare open enrollment period takes place from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.

"It is a good idea to take another look at your plans if you have had any health changes," she said. The Allen County Council of Aging can also assist  with questions.

The council is located at 215 N. Central Ave., Lima, phone 419-228-5135.

Willow Ridge seeks volunteer Bible study leader

A volunteer Bible study leader is needed for Willow Ridge campus of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio.

Erin Schroeder said, "We are in need of a Bible study leader for our Frieda House on Thursday mornings or late afternoons. The study can be in depth or as light as the volunteer desires. Also, we provide hymn books if volunteers would like to use them."

Ada Festival of Trees set Nov. 13-18

Invitation for community groups to sponsor trees, wreaths or decorations

Planning is underway for the Ada Community Health Professionals 19th annual Festival of Trees.

This year's festival is from Sunday to Friday, Nov. 13-18 at Community Health Professionals, 1200 S. Main St., Ada.

Deb Curlis of CHP says, "Community groups and individuals are invited to sponsor a tree, wreath or decoration for the fund-raiser. Proceeds assist CHP's hospice program."

This month's community dinners set Oct. 6 and Oct. 20

Two community meals are set for October at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center. Each meal is free - donations of canned goods or cash accepted for The Food Pantry.

Meals are open to the public at 6 p.m. at the Center, 132 N. Main St., Bluffton.
