Friday Photo Challenge - only at the Bluffton Public Library

Take a photo, post it, tag it and watch it go!

The Bluffton Public Library staff enjoys seeing its patrons having fun.

The staff created yet another way to have fun. It's called Friday Photo Challenge.

Here's how it works:

Patrons may participate every Friday in October for a photo finish of the week.
1 - Take a photo
2 -post it on your social media profiles, and
3 - tag the library's profile, #weheartbluffton, and #fridayphoto.

If you don't have a photo-capable phone the staff will snap a picture of you to share directly to the library's social media.

First graders get their first Bluffton history lesson

Bluffton first graders saw first-hand how this community's rural pioneers lived. Last week,  the students toured the Swiss Community Hisitorical Society's Schumacher Homestead. Jamie Nygard shares these photos with Icon viewers. The view above shows the homestead summer kitchen. Rachel Friesen shared about the kitchen with students. Street discussion all the way to 2019 on Monday's council table

Streets, Alleys, Lights and Sidewalk Committee will bring recommendation

Bluffton council is looking as far ahead as 2019 in its street program.  Action on all or part of the multi-year recommendations will be considered on Monday evening.

The streets on the schedule and their projected costs are part of the attachment at the bottom of this story.

Bluffton Paving Co., cost estimates for 2016 total $383,294. Five additional projects were later added to the original 2016 street program at an estimated cost of $93,669.

102 college years ago - here are the Bluffton College Student Volunteers

This very interesting Bluffton photo needs some background.

Taken in the 1914-15 school year, this Bluffton College student group called themselves “Student Volunteers.” It turns out that members of this group intended to enter the Christian mission field upon graduating from college.

Here’s who they are and some of their family connections to Bluffton today:

Men's Soccer drops 3-2 decision to Quakers

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to Earlham College in the 2016 Heartland Conference opener for both teams on Saturday, Oct. 1. Bluffton fell to 3-7 overall, while Earlham improved to 5-4 on the season.
