Silent auction, amateur photo contest fundraisers set by public library
Bluffton Public Library has just the ticket for fun and relaxation. The library is holding two fundraisers related to this year's adult summer reading theme, "Novel Destinations."
The first event is a silent auction that will be held from May 16 through June 4. Over 30 items will be available to bid on, including historic bed and breakfast locations in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana; a river cruise; a Tennessee amusement park; a West Virginia whitewater raft trip; and area festivals, gardens, historic homes, museums and much more.
The library's second Novel Destinations fundraiser is an amateur photo contest sponsored by Greg's Pharmacy. More than $800 in prizes will be given away, including a first place prize valued at $175, second place prize of $75, third place prize of $50 and over twenty random drawings for tickets to a variety of novel destinations.
Entries will be accepted at the Bluffton Public Library between June 6 and July 29, in conjunction with the adult summer reading program.
These "Novel Destination" fundraisers offer much more than fun and relaxation - they help the library sustain essential programs and services while experiencing state funding cuts that exceed $75,000 per year.
A complete list of auction items will be available at the library and at www.blufftonpubliclibrary.org by May 16. Photo contest registration forms and guidelines will be available in the library, at Greg's Pharmacy and at www.blufftonpubliclibrary.org by late May.
