Janet K. Shulaw-Hampp 1943-2011
Janet K. Shulaw-Hampp, 67 died at 5:29 p.m. after a battle with pancreatic cancer at her daughter's residence in Lima.
She was bon on Sept. 4, 1943 in Kenton, Ohio to Ralph and Naomi (Grabow) Wise who preceded her in death. On Sept. 3, 1962, she married Paul L. Shulaw Jr. who died Dec. 16, 2001.
On Oct. 16, 2006 she married Darrell E. Hampp of Wapakoneta who survives.
She graduated from Cory-Rawson High School and later from from Lima School of Practical Nursing.
She began her nursing career at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findla,y in 1962. She started at Bluffton Hospital in 1968 where she worked for 23 years. She had also worked at St. Catherines, Hilty Memorial Home and Lost Creek Nursing Home. In 1999, she started at Lima Memorial Hospital where she retired in 2007.
She attended Pandora Missionary Church. Survivors also include a son Mark (Christine) Shulaw of Bluffton; two daughters Vette (Curtis) Gibson of Rawson and Valerie (Mark) Dawson of Lima; a sister Beverly (Harley) Hasselsworth of Defiance; 4 step-children and 4 step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wise, and a sister, Barbara Stover.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Rev. Robert Wood officiating. Burial will be in Dukes Cemetery, Mt. Cory.
Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
