Check out BFR's May schedule - three major exercise events
BFR Sports and Fitness will host three major events, each beginning in the month of May, according to Carole Enneking, director.
Senior Fitness Challenge- May 16- Sept. 3
The Mature Fitness Awards USA are designed to encourage and recognize regular physical activity among adults age 50 and over. The program offers numerous activities with something for everyone, from beginning exercisers to long-time fitness enthusiasts.
Many activities are appropriate (or can be adapted) for disabled participants. When selecting an activity, find one that you enjoy and that fits into your daily or weekly routine so you will be likely to stick with it.
You must complete 48 hours of exercise in the 16-week time period. Cost is $10 BFR members and $79.07 for non-members, which includes use of the building, discounts on classes, workout design, assistance from staff trainer, and access to all activities for the challenge with your membership.
For more information call 419-358-4150 or email [email protected].
Healthy Ohioans Walk- May 18
BFR is once again participating in the campaign for Ohioans to walk over one hundred thousand miles. Come out to BFR and walk for FREE indoors to help us towards our goal of 120 miles.
A course will be set up outside incase it is nice, but the indoor track will also be available if the weather does not cooperate. Refreshments and snacks will also be available to those who participate. You can walk a half a mile or 10 miles, whichever is easiest for you.
T.N.T. Summer Fitness Challenge
(Today, Not Tomorrow)- Begins May 23 and runs through July 1. Sign up as a pair or as an individual and you will be paired with someone. The goal of the challenge is to have the highest total of minutes per week exercised as a pair.
Prizes will be awarded weekly as well as an overall prize for the highest average, which will be a $50 BFR gift certificate per person. To make this a safe competition you are limited to 90 minutes of exercise per day.
Cost is $15 per team of 2 or $10 per person. * You must have a BFR membership to use the facility, but you do not have to be a member to participate.
