BHS softball team regional entry a first for Lady Pirates
Bluffton High School girls' softball team (15-7) faces an 18-0 Felicity-Franklin squad in the semi-final round of the Division III state softball tournament on Thursday, May 26. Felicity-Franklin is ranked number 7 in Division III softball in Ohio.
Don't let the opponent's record scare you. The Lady Pirates' schedule prepared BHS well for regional competition.
The contest is at 5 p.m., at Tipp City Middle School. The winner of that contest faces the winner of the Ft. Loramie vs. Covington game, played Wednesday, May 25, also a 5 p.m. start at Tipp City. The regional title game is at noon, Saturday, May 28, gates open at 11 a.m.
For Bluffton's game on May 26, the gates open at 4 p.m. BHS is the visiting team in the contest.
Directions to the field:
Tipp City's softball diamond is located at its Middle School. Take I-75 to Exit 68 (State Route 571). Head east on 571 toward Tipp City. Follow 571 to Hyatt Street (Dairy Queen on corner) and turn left onto Hyatt. Follow Hyatt to the middle school and enter the grounds at the traffic light. The address is 555. N. Hyatt St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371.
Admission to all regional games is $6. Admission will be taken as drivers pull into the parking lot, so drivers should have money ready at that time.
