Harold A. Badertscher 1918-2011
Harold A. Badertscher, 93, died at 7:15 p.m. May 16, 2011, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
He was born April 15, 1918, in Bluffton to Sam and Edith Fryman Badertscher, who preceded him in death. On June 3, 1939, he married Margie May Morehead, who survives in Bluffton.
Mr. Badertscher was a lifelong farmer and had been a custodian for Ada schools for 10 years. He attended Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Ada. He had been a member of the Ada Elevator Board in the 1970s. He served on the dairy committee for the county extension offices in Allen and Hardin counties for several years.
Survivors include six sons, Don (Myrna) Badertscher and Frank (Pat) Badertscher, both of Ada, Ken (Sue) Badertscher of Pickerington, Dale (Sharon) Badertscher, of Ada, Dennis (Laurie) Badertscher, of Bluffton, and Jerry (Jenifer) Badertscher, of Ada; and 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angela Badertscher; a great-grandson, Laken Woolum; two brothers, Wilmer and Walter Badertscher; and three sisters, Helen Leiber, Lucille Frantz and Pauline Zimmerman.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Chaplain Bill Herr will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and until time of services Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. Condolences may be sent to [email protected].
